Water-to-Air Heaters

Water-to-air heaters use warm water from a central heating system, which passes through a high-efficiency heat exchanger. Air is then blown across the exchanger, heating the surrounding space. They’re designed for commercial, agricultural and industrial environments where traditional radiators aren’t practical or powerful enough. Instead of heating surfaces, these units heat the air directly, creating a comfortable temperature throughout the building. The result is fast, responsive heating that works well in spaces that are frequently opened to the outside or need quick recovery after doors have been opened such as warehouses, workshops, showrooms, sports halls, factories and retail areas.

Tips of the trade:

1, When used for cooling as well as heating, condensation can occur, so it’s important to prepare a condensate drain:
Fit a PVC gutter below the heat exchanger to collect runoff.
Use a 32 mm drain pipe with a 1–3% fall for proper flow.
Include a syphon trap to prevent odours.

2, Take care not to drill too close to the heat exchanger when fixing brackets.

3, For heating-only installations, always check the mounting height and angle, Volcano’s diffuser design performs best when fitted at around ¾ of room height, helping distribute heat evenly without creating hot or cold spots.
